A passion for food and cooking has been part of Mish Arndt’s life since her formative years growing up in a Jewish home in Dublin, Ireland. With her mum an adventurous cook and devout foodie, Mish was baking cakes by 10, cooking dinner for her brothers by 14, and driving across town to source unusual ingredients for as long as she can remember.
After moving to Australia in her 20s, Mish studied cookery at William Angliss Institute and since then has worked at some of Melbourne’s top catering companies, supplying high-end food to a diverse array of corporate and private clients. Her experience includes stints at Microsoft Catering in Dublin, the Concourse Restaurant at the Sydney Opera House and Bay Leaf Catering in Albert Park, to name a few.
More recently, Mish has been running kitchens at pre-school centres around Melbourne, creating nutritious and delicious food for children aged 18 months to 5 years. With two daughters of her own at home, Mish is about as expert as you can get when it comes to cooking for – and with – kids.
“I believe that food should not only be tasty but simple to prepare and healthy too,” says Mish. “After 20 years in the business, I have a wealth of innovative, inspiring recipes to share, as well as all the tricks of the trade that make cooking a breeze rather than a chore.”
